John Fattal A lifelong Corunna resident, John Fattal is the Corunna Middle School principal. He was a Corunna High School graduate (1983) and was a member of the first class to go through the entire middle school process back in 1977-1979. Mr. Fattal has been with the Corunna Public Schools full-time since 1999. He was a middle school English and social studies teacher before moving to the high school in 2003 as an English teacher there. Beginning with the 2005-06 school year, Mr. Fattal was promoted to assistant principal at the high school, before landing the principalship here at CMS in 2006. Prior to heading into administration, Mr. Fattal was the Corunna Public Schools' "Teacher of the Year" in 2004-05 and the VFW Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2003-2004. In addition to teaching, Mr. Fattal has extensive coaching experience. Beginning as an 18-year old, he has coached varsity basketball, baseball and football (assistant), in addition to coaching middle school girls basketball, 9th grade softball, 9th grade football and 9th grade basketball. As Corunna's varsity basketball coach, he guided the Cavaliers to league championships from 1999 to 2005, in addition to winning three district titles, one regional championship and a Final Four appearance in 2003. Mr. Fattal has an associates degree in law enforcement from Kalamazoo Valley Community College, a BA degree in education from the University of Michigan-Flint and a school principalship MA degree from Central Michigan University. He has been married since 1991 and has three children.
Mr. Scott Moeller is the Middle School Assistant Principal and the Corunna Public Schools Special Ed. Director. As a middle school administrator he is responsible for all student affairs. His focuses include staffings, student discipline, attendance and creating and maintaining a safe environment. He has also assisted with cultivating an environment that maximizes learning at the middle school.
As the special education director, Mr. Moeller must coordinate all special education programs district-wide. His role is to facilitate and coordinate program development and to lead in devising a complete educational delivery system for the special-needs students that addresses their unique needs.
Mr. Moeller has enjoyed working as an administrator in the middle school since 1994 and has been in the district since 1976. From 1976-1995 Mr. Moeller was a special education teacher in the middle school. He also coached football at various levels for 18 years and was the head football coach his last five years as a teacher. He has also coached the boys' track team.
Scott holds his B.A from Western Michigan University, and has his Masters and administrative endorsement from Central Michigan University.
Mr. Moeller has a wife, Melody, who is a teacher at Elsa Meyer Elementary, a daughter Rebekah Hrcka, and a son, Jacob Moeller.
Scott has a passion for helping special needs students along the highway of life. He also gets energized with the enthusiasm and unbridled love Middle School students have for life and all the new experiences the middle school has to offer. He likes to be around winners and believes that the middle school staff members have a winning attitude that emphasizes doing what is best for the students.
