Heidi was first hired as a teacher in August of 2003. She taught at Nellie Reed Elementary and then moved to Elsa Meyer in 2014. Heidi graduated from Okemos High School and Michigan State University. Heidi, and her husband Neil, have two sons, Jackson who is in 10th grade and Carter who is in 5th grade. “Both boys keep us proud, busy and entertained with their sports schedules,” said Heidi. In her spare time, Heidi enjoys gardening, collecting beach glass and Petoskey stones, and watching their children play soccer and baseball. The family pets, Millie and Felix, are also part of the Haremski household.
"As a Social Emotional Teacher working with children to help them see things in a different way and to believe in themselves takes time and can be a challenge. Through building connections and relationships with these children, and many times their families, it is often these challenges that become the biggest success stories,” said Heidi.
