The 1993 Corunna Baseball Team etched its name into school history with a season that set new standards of excellence and pride for the program. Under the leadership of Head Coach Tony Bohac, the Cavaliers compiled an impressive 27-8 record, capturing Co-League, District, and the program’s first-ever Regional Championships on their way to the Class B Final Four.
This talented and determined squad showcased grit, teamwork, and consistency throughout the year, marking one of the most successful campaigns. The team was led by Josh McCarthy and Joe Vondoloski, both earning All-State Special Mention honors. In addition, five Cavaliers were named First Team All-MMB, highlighting the team’s depth and overall dominance on the diamond.
The 1993 season remains a cornerstone in Corunna Baseball history — a year defined by unity, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence that continues to inspire future generations of Cavaliers.

1993 Varsity Baseball 2025 Corunna HOF Announcement
The 2015 Corunna Girls Bowling Team achieved a historic season that stands as one of the greatest accomplishments in school history. Dominating from start to finish, the Cavaliers rolled their way to the pinnacle of Michigan high school bowling, capturing the MHSAA Division 3 State Championship — the program’s first-ever state title. The girls defeated Coloma in the finals, 1233 to 1170.
Coached by Karla Scott and Ryan Koyne, the team displayed remarkable consistency, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Along the way, they were crowned Regional Champions and completed an undefeated 12-0 season to claim the GAC League Championship. Their dominance extended beyond league play as they also earned the title of “Best of the Best” Greater Flint Tournament Champions, cementing their reputation as one of the top teams in the state.
The Cavaliers were led by a trio of standout bowlers — Morgan Gilbert (1st Team All-Conference), Sierra Howes (2nd Team All-Conference), and Morgan Scott (3rd Team All-Conference). Notably, Sierra Howes set a school record with an incredible 2-game high score of 505.
The 2015 season will forever be remembered as a shining moment in Corunna athletics — a year of excellence and championship glory that continues to inspire future Cavaliers.

Reading at The Nick

🚨 Michigan still does not have a finalized K-12 budget. Without one, schools like ours risk missing critical funding this fall—resources we count on for teachers, buses, programs, and school safety.

I’ve shared more details in my recent posts. Please take a moment to read them and see why timely, protected school funding is so important for our students.

Cavaliers Bringing Art to the Community 🎨

This fall, our Corunna art students will be teaming up with Supercone for an exciting community mural project! Together, our advanced high school art students and middle school buddies will transform Supercone’s fence and outdoor tables into colorful works of art.

Supercone is generously providing all the paint, and our students will bring their own brushes and creativity. Designs will be developed in class, with high school students sketching outlines and middle schoolers adding their ideas to the final plan. On mural day, teams of students will work side by side to paint their section of the fence or table, creating a vibrant display that showcases both talent and teamwork.

We are especially proud that this project has been designed to include all students, with aides and support staff ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate. This collaboration is not only a wonderful learning experience but also a chance to strengthen the bond between our schools and local businesses.

It’s a true win-win: students get to share their creativity with the community, and Corunna gains another reason to be proud of its Cavaliers!

Congrats to the Varsity Golf Team for defeating Owosso to capture the Phillips Cup! Each year the two teams come together to honor Jim Phillips, a life-long advocate for Shiawassee County youth sports. It's a great day of golf and camaraderie between the two schools. This year Corunna took the Cup by 7 strokes.

Our senior banners have arrived! We thank the Rotary Club for volunteering to hang and take down the banners! They’ve asked for a little extra help to ensure everything is up in time for graduation, and we’d love for you to join in. Please consider showing that Cavalier spirit by lending a hand at 4:30 p.m. this Sunday, May 4, at McCurdy Park's Community Center. Consider bringing an 8-foot step ladder and a partner. As they say, many hands make light work. Call Central Office (989) 743-6338 with questions. Thank you for helping us show our graduating seniors how much this community supports them by displaying every banner before graduation! Respectfully, Mr. Fattal
