Today's Var. Boys Swim meet and FR/JV Boys BB contests have been canceled...
-The Boys Swim meet is rescheduled to Feb 4th - 6pm @ Corunna.
-The FR/JV Boys BB games are rescheduled to Feb 19th 5:30 & 7pm @ LF.
All other practices will take place as scheduled today. Athletes should double check with their respective coach.

Jan-22-2025:
Voluntary High School sports practices may take place at their regular scheduled times this afternoon/evening. Athletes check with your respective coaches.
-Competitive Cheer Competition is still ON at Swartz Creek HS.
-Varsity Wrestling quad has been rescheduled to next Wed. 1/29.

Corunna Public Schools is canceled today, 12.20.24, due to icy roads, especially the country intersections. Stay safe!

Mary Dumond, a 1950 graduate, has been a dedicated community and school volunteer for decades. She has contributed 40 years of service at Corunna High School (CHS) and Corunna Middle School (CMS) track meets, as well as many years volunteering at CHS cross country and wrestling events. A devoted community servant, Mary has worked countless elections and was a member of the original Corunna Athletic Club. She has also volunteered extensively in the concession stand. Additionally, Mary was a cheerleader during her time at CHS, demonstrating her commitment to supporting school spirit and athletics.


John Wilcox, the 1999 MITCA Track Coach of the Year, had an extraordinary coaching career spanning over 44 years with Corunna track. He was part of the CHS coaching staff for an impressive 55 Conference or Regional Championships. Under his guidance, the Cavalier girls track team achieved three State Runner-up titles (1990, 1997, and 1999), produced 11 individual state champions, and won two relay state championships. His teams also won eight regional and 19 conference championships. Coach Wilcox was an exceptional pole vault coach producing several All-Staters for the boy’s and girl’s programs.
A longtime P.E. teacher at Corunna Middle School, Wilcox competed in track collegiately for Michigan State University.


Meredith Norris, a 2017 graduate, was an exceptional multi-sport athlete, earning 7 varsity letters in volleyball (4), basketball (1), and track (2).
In volleyball, Meredith was a 4-time All-Conference and All-Region honoree, and a 3-time 1st Team All-State selection. She set MHSAA and CHS records for kills, earned Team MVP three times, and she was named Argus Press Player of the Year three times, as well as LSJ Player of the Year twice. She was selected as an Under Armour All-American and was awarded 2016 Miss Volleyball for Michigan. Her volleyball teams won four district titles, two regional titles, and one conference championship.
In basketball, she played one season and received the Most Improved Award.
In track and field, Meredith earned All-Conference honors in both years and was the Field Event MVP in 2015, as well as a state qualifier. Her track teams won two conference championships.
In 2017, Meredith was awarded the prestigious Serr Award. She was also recognized as a GAC Scholar-Athlete, Flint Kiwanis Female Athlete of the Year, and a finalist for the Detroit Athletic Club Athlete of the Year. She was active in the National Honor Society, Student Council, and was a Top 10 student.
After high school, Meredith accepted a full scholarship to Michigan State University, where she earned 4 varsity letters in volleyball and served as team captain her senior year. She was named All-Academic Big Ten in 2018, 2019, and 2020, and received an NCAA Post-Baccalaureate Scholarship. Her team reached the Elite Eight in 2017.


Gordon Serr, a 1949 graduate, was a versatile athlete who earned 11 varsity letters across four sports: football, basketball, track, and baseball. In football, he was a 4-year player and earned All-Conference honors as an offensive lineman in 1947 and 1948. His football team won the State Championship in 1947 and secured Conference titles in both 1947 and 1948.
In basketball, Serr played for 4 years, with his teams winning the league title in 1947 and both the league and district championships in 1948 and 1949. As a 3-year track athlete, he was part of teams that won league championships in 1947, 1948, and 1949. He also played baseball for 2 years.
After high school, Serr played football at Michigan State University under legendary coach Biggie Munn, earning 3 varsity letters and starting as an offensive guard on the 1952 National Championship team. He later became a football coach at Arizona State University and served on the coaching staff at MSU under Duffy Daugherty, contributing to the National Championship teams in 1965 and 1966.

Noah Jacobs, a 2017 graduate, was a highly accomplished distance runner with 8 varsity letters in cross-country and track. He was a 5-time individual state champion.
In cross-country, Noah was the 2016 State Champion, All-American, Midwest Meet Champion, Gatorade Runner of the Year, Regional Champion, and LSJ Runner of the Year. He also earned All-State honors in 2015 (2nd place) and 2014 (5th place) and set the school 5K record at 14:59.5. He was part of the 2016 State Champion team.
In track, Noah continued to excel, winning the 3200m and 1600m State Championships in 2017 and setting school records in the 1600m (4:14.03) and 3200m (8:55.57). He was named an All-American in the 4x Mile Relay at the New Balance Nationals. In 2016, he set a Division 2 State Record in the 3200m, won the New Balance 2-Mile Championship, and he was named LSJ Runner of the Year. His track achievements began in 2015 when he won his first state title in the 3200m. He was also part of the MITCA State Championship team, winning both the 1600m and 3200m.
Noah received the Serr Athlete of the Year Award in 2017 and went on to run cross-country and track on a full scholarship at the University of Wisconsin.


Dick Moffit, a 1996 Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee and 1998 Michigan High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee, had a significant coaching and teaching career. From 1977 to 1988, he compiled a 67-50-1 record as Head Football Coach and also served as Interim Head Coach in 1970. In 1981, he led Corunna to its first-ever state playoff berth, achieving a 9-0 regular season and winning the Mid-Michigan B (MMB) Championship.
Moffit coached multiple sports at Corunna High School, including baseball (leading the 1971 team to an MMB Championship), basketball, wrestling, golf, softball (MMB Champions from 1979-1982 and District Champions in 1980), and volleyball. He dedicated 34 years to teaching at Corunna Public Schools.
A college athlete at Central Michigan University, Moffit played football as an All-League quarterback in 1962 and also lettered in baseball.


Dave Harvey, a 1967 graduate of Corunna High School, dedicated his life to athletics, coaching, teaching, and community service. A multi-sport athlete, he earned 13 varsity letters across football, basketball, baseball, and track. Highlights include All-Conference honors in baseball (11th and 12th grade), MVP and captain recognition in his senior year, and All-Conference and team captain honors in football. He also was part of a 4x440 relay track record.
Harvey coached CHS athletes for 45 years in football (42 years), baseball (30 years), basketball (32 years), and track (12 years). As a teacher, he served Corunna schools for 42 years.
A highly regarded ASA softball player and umpire, he played ASA FastPitch for 20 years, competing on some of the Midwest’s top teams and winning multiple district and regional titles. Harvey umpired for 30 years, including 12 years with the MHSAA, and officiated three state finals (2002, 2008, and 2012).
A dedicated volunteer, he is an honorary member of Corunna FFA and NHS, and was named Volunteer of the Year by Corunna VFW in 2019 and Community Citizen of the Year by Burns Grange in 2011. He also served on the Corunna Softball Association Board for 25 years, including 7 as president, and has donated generously to Corunna Public Schools and the community through "Cookies for a Cause" via Harvey Cookies.
