Teams will be allowed to practice after school and all practices must be done by 5:00pm. Athletes should check with their respective coach regarding practice.

Today's Var. Boys Swim meet and FR/JV Boys BB contests have been canceled...
-The Boys Swim meet is rescheduled to Feb 4th - 6pm @ Corunna.
-The FR/JV Boys BB games are rescheduled to Feb 19th 5:30 & 7pm @ LF.
All other practices will take place as scheduled today. Athletes should double check with their respective coach.
Jan-22-2025:
Voluntary High School sports practices may take place at their regular scheduled times this afternoon/evening. Athletes check with your respective coaches.

Corunna Public Schools is canceled today, 12.20.24, due to icy roads, especially the country intersections. Stay safe!
Mary Dumond, a 1950 graduate, has been a dedicated community and school volunteer for decades. She has contributed 40 years of service at Corunna High School (CHS) and Corunna Middle School (CMS) track meets, as well as many years volunteering at CHS cross country and wrestling events. A devoted community servant, Mary has worked countless elections and was a member of the original Corunna Athletic Club. She has also volunteered extensively in the concession stand. Additionally, Mary was a cheerleader during her time at CHS, demonstrating her commitment to supporting school spirit and athletics.

John Wilcox, the 1999 MITCA Track Coach of the Year, had an extraordinary coaching career spanning over 44 years with Corunna track. He was part of the CHS coaching staff for an impressive 55 Conference or Regional Championships. Under his guidance, the Cavalier girls track team achieved three State Runner-up titles (1990, 1997, and 1999), produced 11 individual state champions, and won two relay state championships. His teams also won eight regional and 19 conference championships. Coach Wilcox was an exceptional pole vault coach producing several All-Staters for the boy’s and girl’s programs.
A longtime P.E. teacher at Corunna Middle School, Wilcox competed in track collegiately for Michigan State University.

Gordon Serr, a 1949 graduate, was a versatile athlete who earned 11 varsity letters across four sports: football, basketball, track, and baseball. In football, he was a 4-year player and earned All-Conference honors as an offensive lineman in 1947 and 1948. His football team won the State Championship in 1947 and secured Conference titles in both 1947 and 1948.
In basketball, Serr played for 4 years, with his teams winning the league title in 1947 and both the league and district championships in 1948 and 1949. As a 3-year track athlete, he was part of teams that won league championships in 1947, 1948, and 1949. He also played baseball for 2 years.
After high school, Serr played football at Michigan State University under legendary coach Biggie Munn, earning 3 varsity letters and starting as an offensive guard on the 1952 National Championship team. He later became a football coach at Arizona State University and served on the coaching staff at MSU under Duffy Daugherty, contributing to the National Championship teams in 1965 and 1966.
