Scott O’Brien has taken on a different role at Corunna High School. Scott was the Graduation Coach and now will expand his work with CHS students as the Innovation Learning Academy Mentor/Graduation Coach.
The Innovation Learning Academy was recently implemented by the district. We are proud of our successes in the traditional classroom; we are also aware that the traditional approach to education is not always for everyone. At Corunna High School we recognize that each student is unique with his or her own set of learning styles, goals, needs, circumstances, and more.
As a result, the Corunna Innovation Learning Academy is able to structure an individual plan for academic success for any student in grades 9 through 12 as they pursue their high school diploma.
Scott will monitor pupil progress, collaborate with teachers of record, foster relationships with families, provide workforce and support services, document course work, conduct outreach activities, help students develop career paths and provide resources, monitor attendance and truancy, and be a point of access for students with questions or who may be in need of additional services.
