Social Emotional Learning Teacher and Special Education Co-Coordinator

Rachel was first hired as a special education teacher in August of 1997. She graduated from Owosso High School and attended Saginaw Valley State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education and her master’s degree in behavioral education.  

 Rachel has taught at the Corunna Middle School in grades 6 through 8, co-teaching in all subject areas.  Five years ago, Rachel began teaching special education in 4th and 5th grades at the middle school.  During that time, she also took on the role of special education coordinator and 504 coordinator for the district.  This year, Rachel moved to Nellie Reed where she is also serving as the social emotional learning teacher.  She and her husband, Ben,  live in Owosso.  They have three children Isabella 19, Matilda 17, and Gus 14.
