Corunna FFA September and October Points of Pride


SEPTEMBER:

  • FFA meeting: 28 members attended the FFA meeting. Officers put on leadership activities and we discussed old business and new business. 

  • Project Red: Students traveled to Shiawassee County Fair grounds to guide 2nd graders from one station to another while they learned about Agriculture on Rural Education Day. 

  • Regional Leadership Workshop: Students traveled to Durand High School to participate in leadership workshops with other FFA members from Region 4. 

  • Regional Tractor Driving: Garret Andrejack, Ben Crevier, and Bryan Flanner participated in regional tractor driving contest at Durand HS. Garret Anderjack got 1st out of 12 in the 2 wheel division. 

OCTOBER:

  • FFA Meeting: 23 members attended the FFA meeting. We discussed events that occurred in September and future events planned through October. At the end of the meeting, members discussed and voted on chapter T-Shirt designs for the 2019-2020 year. 
  • Fall Leadership Conference: 6 students traveled to Lansing to attend the 212/360 Leadership Conferences where they learned about leadership and agricultural careers first hand. 
  • National Convention: From October 29th- November 2nd five students traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana as delegates, along with four students competing in Agricultural Mechanics (Austin Sampson, Jake VanNewkirk, Briggs Stickel and Joey Lloyd) and Amber Szakal competing in Dairy handling. Four past members from our chapter also earned their American Degree (Ben Butcher, Gina O'brien, Zane Woodruff, and Avianna Jackson. This is the highest degree you can earn in FFA.
