Dave Brown has been named the August Volunteer of the Month. Dave retired as a teacher at Corunna High School in May of 2005, after thirty-six years as a teacher. Dave said, “I volunteer because it gives me a chance to work with young children, which I have always enjoyed, ever since I started teaching.”
Dave has volunteered for twenty-five years, since his time as a teacher. Dave said, “I started volunteering when my kids were in Odyssey of the Mind.”
“Two of the best memories I have volunteering are two world championships for Odyssey of the Mind and two state championships in cross country,” said Dave.
Dave said, “Three words that describe a true Cavalier are hardworking, dedicated and honest.”
In his spare time, Dave enjoys caring for grandchildren. Lizzie Dettman also added. . . “And being one of the best coaches ever”
Dave’s family includes wife Bonnie, son Nathan, daughters Elizabeth and Kayla, and eight grandchildren.
