Sharon Ganssley has been named August 2026 Volunteer of the Month. Sharon began volunteering when her children were in elementary school. She currently is a member of the Corunna Educational Foundation. Sharon was also very instrumental in sharing information about the recent May bond proposals to the community. Sharon said, “Corunna has a strong leadership and teaching staff. It is important to give back. It’s about the students and making memories and giving opportunities.”
“Two positive things that I will take away from my time volunteering are the friendships that will last a lifetime and the smiles on the students’ faces,” said Sharon.
Sharon said, “Three words that describe a Cavalier are dedicated, community minded, and student focused.”
Sharon and her late husband, Dave, have four children, Corey, Tyler (Bree), Janelle (Nick), and Trevor. She also has three grandchildren, Nolan - 2nd grade, Cameron - kindergarten, and Barrett - 2.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoys reading, yardwork, and of course, her grandchildren!
