Dennis Haney has been named August 2026 Employee of the Month. Dennis is a day custodian at Elsa Meyer Elementary. He was hired November 2019. “I was hired first as a night custodian and moved to the day shift in 2021. I enjoy working with the amazing staff and helping keep the building clean for the children,” said Dennis.
Dennis said, “One thing that may surprise you about me is that I am a licensed general for ham radio.” (The General Class license is the second tier of U.S. amateur radio licensing. It grants operating privileges on all amateur bands and most HF (high frequency) spectrums, enabling worldwide communication.)
“My favorite best day was the day I passed my general class ham radio test,” said Dennis.
Dennis said, “I have three things on my bucket list, travel, move to the Caribbean, and do some island time!”
“I will always remember working with the amazing staff at Elsa Meyer Elementary and I will carry those days with me always,” said Dennis.
“I had many people who positively influenced me throughout my lifetime. My mom was the person that influenced me the most,” said Dennis.
In his spare time, he enjoys being a ham radio operator and racing on dirt and carpet with remote-control cars.
