Melissa Whalen has been named October Employee of the Month. Melissa is a fourth grade teacher at Corunna Middle School. She was honored during the October 17 Board of Education meeting held at Corunna High School. “Corunna has always been that one district that goes above and beyond what is required to do, whether it is supporting students or the community. It has an amazing sense of school pride, and I could never imagine myself teaching anywhere else but Corunna,” said Melissa.
Melissa said, “One memory I will always carry with me is directing the entire Corunna staff in the Wizard of Oz. That was an amazing time. Seeing everyone getting involved and working together to entertain our students, families, and community was wonderful.”
Melissa and her husband, Travis, have two children, Hunter and Briar.
