We combined Exploratory today and made reindeer food with oats and craisins! They decorated bags and colored pictures for Santa! It's a great day at Elsa Meyer! Merry Christmas!!!

It's the last day before Christmas break and we have a mix of learning and FUN!!! Kindergarten is having a block party this morning! Coloring, dancing and laughing are the best!

Mrs. Meyer's hosted the last Art Club session for fall/winter. They made adorable gumball ornaments. The kids loved it! We are so thankful for Mrs. Meyers!

We had a very special friend, Mr. Dietzel, come in today and entertain our entire school grade by grade with stories and games. The kids were so happy that you could hear them through the building. It's a jolly day at Elsa Meyer!

If you ordered from the Biggby Fundraiser, orders are in! Your child will be bringing them home today or tomorrow. Please check backpacks! If you have a large order that we don't think the child can carry home, we will call you.

This week we have had a grade level Christmas parent/child activity at Elsa Meyer! Parents came in and built gingerbread houses with their littles! It has been a wonderful time making memories with these precious children! 3 more days until Christmas Break!

We have close to a 100 lost items that we are trying to find owners for. Coats, gloves, hats, sweatshirts and other random items are sitting on tables and hung up on hooks. PLEASE look for any of your child's lost items here. We will be donating all items on Friday

Our first day of Spirit Week is to wear a Christmas sweater, socks or tie. We had some really cute kids excited to wear their festive clothes! So fun!

Today in Mrs. Princinsky's class they studied snowflake science. They went outside with a portable microscope to see snowflakes up close and discuss their shape, size and make up. Then they came inside and worked on making their own snowflakes out of paper! They had a great time!

Mrs. Bowen, our Art Teacher, has the kids making beautiful Christmas trees to celebrate the season! They are doing such a great job!

More Festival of Trees fun!

Today, our 1st grade classes decorated their trees for the Festival of Trees! It was a beautiful, fun and festive day!

We got a lot of snow over the weekend, please remember to send your child with appropriate snow gear so they can play safely at recess! If you need help acquiring any items, please call the office at Elsa Meyer.

We had an incredible experience making fresh bread from scratch with our entire Kindergarten class! Parents were invited in to help the kiddos with the steps. The National Honors Society high school kids came over to offer assistance. Our fabulous kitchen staff is baking them all. What a great way to start the Thanksgiving week!

We had a flurry of activity this morning in our penny wars for those in need! The kids are learning about the power of helping as the whole school comes together to contribute! We have 5 teams, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade/MOCI, 3rd grade/BK and Staff. Right now Staff is in 1st place but 1st grade is right on our heels. TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY!!

At Elsa Meyer, we are raising money to help feed those in need! We are also collecting approved, non-expired food (see the list in our last newsletter) In order to be as helpful as we can, we are rewarding the grade who raises the most money/items with a special pajama day! The kids are loving being big helpers and showing kindness!

Today was an important day to stop and think about our brave servicemen/women. Mrs. Bowen had her students draw our wonderful soldiers today. Mrs. Boilore had her students make American Flags. Our entire staff took time today to talk to our students about our AMAZING Veterans. We want to honor them, not just on Veteran's Day but on all days. Thank you Veterans! We appreciate you!

Today, the Corunna High School band came and played for our students! The kids were mesmerized, energized and filled with excitement to see the "Big Kids" play all different kinds of instruments. Thank you Mr. Luft and all the students who came today! It was a TREAT!!!

We have another round of LOST AND FOUND. Please look through to see if anything belongs to your child. Encourage your child to look and see if they have any belongings on or below the table. We will donate at the end of the week. THANK YOU!
