Today was an important day to stop and think about our brave servicemen/women. Mrs. Bowen had her students draw our wonderful soldiers today. Mrs. Boilore had her students make American Flags. Our entire staff took time today to talk to our students about our AMAZING Veterans. We want to honor them, not just on Veteran's Day but on all days. Thank you Veterans! We appreciate you!

Today, the Corunna High School band came and played for our students! The kids were mesmerized, energized and filled with excitement to see the "Big Kids" play all different kinds of instruments. Thank you Mr. Luft and all the students who came today! It was a TREAT!!!

We have another round of LOST AND FOUND. Please look through to see if anything belongs to your child. Encourage your child to look and see if they have any belongings on or below the table. We will donate at the end of the week. THANK YOU!

Last week was a whirlwind of learning, celebration and fun! Here is just a few pictures of our special Halloween Day!

As part of our Halloween fun, every child got to decorate a pumpkin during specials time. A big THANK YOU to Rivette Farms for donating a pumpkin for all 492 students! The kids loved it!!

Today was a celebration!!! At Elsa Meyer we have CAV cards. When a student makes a really good choice by working hard at their school work, by helping a friend or being an exemplary example, they earn a CAV card. When we get to a certain level in our CAV box, we earn an assembly and we do something fun. Our first goal was met earlier this week and our students got to duct tape our wonderful principal to the wall! They thought it was hilarious and the whole school was filled with laughter and excitement! We have amazing students at Elsa Meyer and we are so proud of them! Keep it up CAVS!

COSTUME PARADE TOMORROW (ON HALLOWEEN) at Elsa Meyer in the bus loop. Costume Parade will start at 11:10 and will end at 11:30. You can take your child after the parade, you must sign them out from the classroom. Regular Dismissal is at 12:10. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Last Thursday, the National Honors Society, our awesome students from the High School, sponsored an Activity Night Fundraiser at Elsa Meyer! We had just over 200 kiddos come and have fun! It was a great!
We had some special friends from Corunna Drama Club visit today to promote their upcoming production! Alice and Wonderland is a classic and these friends have been working so hard and are so talented! The kids at Elsa Meyer were excited to see them dressed in their costumes! Showings are Friday @ 7pm on Nov. 7th and Saturday @ 1:00pm and 7:00pm on Nov. 8th. Adults $10 and Kids $5

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, we had the privilege of having a Mobile Farm Lab come to Elsa Meyer sponsored by Shiawassee Farm Bureau. Each class got an opportunity to study what crops are in season right now and what is in season in the Spring and Summer. They talked about work on the farm and how important it is! Our kiddos loved exploring Agriculture!

FABULOUS FRIDAY!!! We had our FFA friends come to Elsa Meyer and give the entire school hayrides. The kids loved being pulled behind the big tractors in the crisp cold weather. It was a perfect end to the week!

We had a beautiful morning to induct our first Safety Patrol Team Members! They took an oath to help keep our friends safe. This is about safety but also about building leadership skills and encouraging our friends to follow the rules. It's about serving our district and making excellent choices. We are so proud of each and every one of them.

At Elsa Meyer, we like to celebrate our students and staff whether it's for their birthday or for just being awesome. If you are ever interested, we have celebration grams! You can fill one out and pay in the office.

Today our First graders got to experience history first hand at the Historical Village at McCurdy Park! They got a glimpse of the past as they toured an historic school house. They played games their great grandparents played and were able to see water come straight from the pump. This is such a valuable learning experience for our littles!

Sloane lost her first tooth at school today!! We are so proud of her!

Yesterday was the final reward for the Elsa Meyer Fun Run! We had 125 kids qualify for the top prize this year, a movie at NCG theater. Everyone had a great time! A big thanks to our Elsa Meyer PTO for making big things happen!

Mrs. Boilore's Begindergarten class learned about the letter "G" today by playing GOLF! Thank you to our golf pros that came in from the Owosso Country Club and Twin Brooks Golf Course. The kids loved it!

I'm so sorry for the confusion! The promotional materials that the photography company sent us had the wrong date and I missed it. Retakes are on the 29th of October. Thank you for your patience!

Picture Retakes coming up on October 21st
