Immunization Schedule

State law requires all incoming 7th grade students to be vaccinated against Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (TDAP) as well as Meningococcal Conjugate before starting the school year.  Students who do not have up-to-date immunizations may be excluded from attending school.  Many students have received these required vaccines during a well-child visit to their primary care provider.  Parents and guardians can find out if a child has had these vaccines by looking at the child’s vaccine record or by checking with the family’s primary care physician.  If you have an objection to any of the immunizations that are required by the Michigan Public Health Code, please contact the Shiawassee County Health Department to complete the process of obtaining an immunization waiver.  Please consider making sure your child has his/her shots or a waiver ASAP to avoid having them miss school this fall.  Thank you in advance for your help with getting this completed on time!
