School leaders across the state are urging our legislators to pass the School Aid Budget as soon as possible. Without an approved budget, districts across the state may miss the first October 20 payment, which is necessary to operate. Please see the letter [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FF3WcCd58aeLhghbSbnQd9huNSU4wtOe/view?usp=sharing] being sent to legislators, families, and staff across Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, and Shiawassee Counties, addressing the need for a stable budget to continue teaching and learning across our region.
Please join us in urging our elected officials to reach a consensus to secure K-12 funding. You can contact your state lawmakers at https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Legislature/Legislators and explain why timely, protected school funding is important to you and your family.

September Volunteer of the Month
Mike Kruszkowski has been named September Volunteer of the Month. Mike was honored by the Board of Education on September 15. Mike volunteers with the Corunna band and announces the band during home football games.
Mike said, “My first volunteering experience was in 1995. I volunteered at my sister’s prom! I haven’t stopped! I got involved with the band when my kids started playing. It was a no brainer as a band alum!”
In his spare time, Mike loves to listen to all kinds of music and enjoys spending time with his daughter Madison, son Mason, and granddaughter Layla.

September 2025 Employee of the Month
Aidan Woodruff has been named September Employee of the Month. He was honored during the September 15 Board of Education meeting. Aidan is a custodian at Louise Peacock Children’s Services
Aidan said, “ I’ve worked for Corunna for almost two years. I have worked at the high school, Elsa Meyer Elementary, and now Louise Peacock. I work mostly as a second shift custodian, but now first shift at L.P. I have been a custodian since being hired at Corunna.”
Aidan’s family includes his fiancé Isabel, mom April, dad, Gary, brother Beckham, and sister-in-law Alex.

The Community Breakfasts are held at Corunna Middle School and begin at 8:45 a.m. in the cafeteria.
