March Employee of the Month-Missy Boilore Missy will be honored during the April Board meeting. Missy is a begindergarten teacher at Nellie Reed Elementary. She was hired in August of 1997. “Twenty-four years ago, I signed my first teaching contract with Corunna Public Schools. I had a job! Just what you need to make a living. My years in Corunna have been more than just a job. A home for me, new friends, and extended family. Going to school each day doesn’t feel like work. I love what I do just as much today,” said Missy. “Something that you may not know is that I started riding motorcycles in the first grade,” said Missy. Missy said, “My favorite best day(s) are when my boys arrived in this world.” “I have two things on my bucket list, becoming a grandma and traveling,” said Missy. Missy said, “A memory that I will always carry with me is Young Author’s Day. They were amazing days for students and staff.” “One thing that separates Corunna from other districts is that we have amazing teamwork,” said Missy. Missy said, “The person that most positively influenced me was my mother. Her love for children rubbed off on me.” In her spare time Missy enjoys exercising, reading, and spending time with her family.

On March 9, Mrs. Jessica Hilewsky took 84 Corunna High School students to the Zekelman Holocaust Center in Farmington Hills, MI. Students received a tour of the museum to see artifacts, pictures, and exhibits featured. Furthermore, students were able to hear a second-generation speaker share her dad's story of survival. With all of what's going on in our world today, students can apply the lessons of the Holocaust to their own lives, their world, and to stop hate.
