Good morning Fellow Cavaliers! This is just a friendly reminder for you to exercise the most fundamental patriotic duty today, and that is to vote. Polls are open until 8 p.m. tonight.
Good evening,
This is just a reminder about tomorrow’s, Tuesday, May 4, bond election. Please do your part and exercise the most basic democratic fundamental by voting. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For those of you who drop off/pick up your children from school, members of the Advancing Corunna’s Education, or ACE committee will be reminding you to vote when you drop off/pick up your child.
Next, I will send out a couple of reminders tomorrow at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., reminding you to vote using this same format.
Finally, I’d like to share information taken from the Shiawassee County Clerk’s website, regarding how ONE VOTE has made a difference in the past:
- In 1776, one vote made English the official language in America instead of German.
- In 1845, one vote brought Texas into the union.
- In 1868, one vote saved President Andrew Johnson from impeachment.
- In 1876, one vote gave Rutherford B. Hayes the Presidency of the United States.
- In 1933, one vote gave Adolph Hitler leadership of the Nazi Party.
- In 1941, one vote saved Selective Service – just weeks before Pearl Harbor was attacked.
Respectfully,
Superintendent John Fattal
